1.
My mom taught me how to be an early bird not to suffer hunger pangs not to fear my self at all and I know yes I know I won't be good and I know yes I know you won't be there I woke up early to catch the worm but it didn't work I now have nothing more than rusty steel in my mouth I chose to be a fleeting bird ‘cause it couldn't work for me to be in a cage not even just to rest my weary bones
2.
Just Mad 03:21
I dreamed about a stranger who came from far away he looked weird other than us and so I hated him he said I come to you in peace but I confess I'm surprised to see what you managed to do to poor planet earth how could that happen? what did you wrong here? you must just be mad we must just be mad
3.
Never Ever 02:30
You never ever let the ugliness win don't even try to stay away from it stop trying not to be bad you know you will for you will get the better of it you never ever let the madness win don't even try to stay away from it stop trying not to be mad you know you will for you will get the better of it You never ever let the sadness win don't even try to stay away from it stop trying not to be sad you know you will for you will get the better of it you just let the shining win don't even try to stay away from it enjoy the beauty of little things I know you will for you will get the better of it
4.
The Bank 02:20
A bank for the needy a place where to feel safe a chance to grab a bite a bank for the poor souls a reason to feel safe when you own nothing at all the anger of mother nature and millions and millions died the rage of holy flood then silence all around that's not what we hoped for us and the ones we loved, for each living being you know what we got for we didn't guard enough the ones we loved
5.
When the sun is gone and the sky is dark the stars look at you when you feel you're done your inner light is gone the stars come to you the stars look at you for your love is gone for the night is dark the stars look at you
6.
Golden Rings 02:43
I'm from where the ground rises proud member of the hill tribes noble deep eyes gentle unripe outline oh land sweet land how I miss you we used to live in wooden houses we used to share our everything we used to run through green fields and decorate our neck of golden rings the war of nine armies never ended and what brought you here they said a city of hiding places where evil never sleeps
7.
Roma 02:26
The illusion of a great empire of a safe and prosperous land of a proud and patriotic folk of a lasting and perpetual peace none of what you've been taught is true Rome has never been the capital of beauty that's what you've been led to believe that's what you've been trained to adore get back your freedom of thought get back your freedom of speech forced to escape from false convictions you must now face the brutal truth of the greatest deception you must free yourself from lies
8.
Stolen Land 02:59
I can't look at the sea anymore anytime I do so I see my bother's eyes swallowed by the waves I can't go back home anymore anytime I do so I hear my mother's cries screaming out loud my name I can't get back there anymore anytime I do so I feel my father's soul crying for a stolen land

about

I-Taki Maki's sixth album “Friedhof” - released on 14th December 2023 - forces us to think about what we pretend not to see. It’s a journey through ruins and despair, fueled by hope.
Post-punk atmospheres and sometimes acid sounds counterbalance the melancholic softness that pervades the entire work.
Deliberately sparse arrangements, decadent moods and a refusal to make concessions at the cost of brutality are the main features of an album that dispenses with superficiality, concentrates on the essential and leaves the listener with its message: another world is possible.
"Friedhof" is a journey into the corners of society that we pretend to overlook and that are shaped by a model that sometimes creates unacceptable inequalities and leaves the most vulnerable behind.
The album, preceded by three singles (Fleeting Birds, Never Ever and The Bank), tells stories in its eight tracks about the discomfort caused by the difficult socio-economic situations that characterize the places narrated in each track.
